Jaywantrao Ghyar Patil Sevabhavi Sanstha, located in Hingoli, Maharashtra was established on 26th January 2007. Chandrakant Ghyar Patil is the Founder, Trustee, and Coordinator of the organization. Former Block Development Officer, Block & District: Hingoli’s Hon. B.M. Mitke inspired Mr. Chandrakant Ghyar Patil, the founder of the organization, to register the organization. organization’s legal compliance – registered as Societies Reg. Act 1860, Public Trust Act 1950 , Income Tax – PAN, Registered U/s 12 AA Income Tax. , Registration 80-G from the Income Tax, CSR 1, FCRA-NA.
The organization was established in the name of Jaywantarao Ghyar Patil, known for his commitment to social development. Jaywantrao Ghyar Patil was a caturhastraha (multi-skilled) personality who was proud of his lineage of farming families. Although illiterate himself, he realized the importance of education and would encourage members of the community to send their children to schools. He worked as a carpenter, weaver (baskets, tree guards, darale, tatte / tatave, etc. from plant branches), soil work (matikam) , bricklayer, blacksmith, flax/linen, and jute work. He promoted mental and physical well-being through yoga and regular exercise, and was also an animal lover; he would treat injured stray dogs and other animals himself.
The vision of this Sanstha is to develop the spirit of Jaywantrao Ghyar Patil in every citizen, promoting self-sufficiency, organic farming, culture, skill-development of the weaker sections, sustainable development, and contributing towards nation-building.
The organization has successfully formed 30 village-level Biodiversity Management Committees in the Hingoli block. We have done the work of preparing the People’s Biodiversity Registrar of 72 Gram Panchayats in 2 Block of Hingoli District through public participation during the period 2019-20 to 2021-22. Our trust works with women and has established SHGs (Self- Help Groups) in the Hingoli block, runs kitchen garden programs with 100 women per year for five years, is supported by AFARM (Action for Agricultural Renewal in Maharashtra), Pune. We have conducted organic farming programs with farmers, established the Organic Farmers Group, and also arranged the National Environmental Campaign awareness programs through BAIF, Pune (Bhartiya Agro Industries Foundation).
Major activities of the society are biodiversity management, organic farming, health, education, skill development, training SHGs (Self Help Groups), and more.
